T2A Step Up

The T2A (Transition to Adulthood) Step Up program at Lighthouse Child and Family Services is dedicated to empowering young people as they navigate the critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. Designed to provide comprehensive support during this pivotal time, our program equips young people with the skills, resources, and confidence they need to build successful, independent lives.

Our T2A Step Up program focuses on key areas essential for a smooth transition to adulthood:

Life Skills Development: We offer practical training in essential life skills, including financial management, cooking, healthcare, and personal organisation. These workshops are designed to help young people gain the independence they need to thrive on their own.

Driver Training: Understanding the importance of mobility and independence, we provide driver training to help young people obtain their driver’s license. This includes both theoretical lessons and practical driving experience, ensuring they are well-prepared to drive safely and confidently.

Education and Employment Support: We assist participants in exploring educational opportunities, accessing vocational training, and securing employment. Our team provides guidance on career planning, job search strategies, resume building, and interview preparation, ensuring that young people are well-prepared for the workforce.

Emotional and Social Support: Understanding the challenges that come with transitioning to adulthood, we offer personalized counselling and mentoring to help young people navigate their emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop a strong sense of self-worth.

Housing and Independent Living: For those ready to live independently, we provide support in finding safe and affordable housing, as well as ongoing assistance to help them maintain their living arrangements. Our goal is to ensure that every young person has a stable and secure place to call home.

Community Connections: We encourage participants to engage with their communities, helping them build a network of supportive relationships and access local resources. This sense of belonging is crucial for their long-term success and well-being.

The T2A Step Up program is committed to guiding young people through this transformative stage of life, helping them step confidently into their futures with the tools and support they need to succeed.
